“I won’t get hurt again.”
“He probably has women falling at his feet.”
Attorney Alexander Wilson lies to himself. He’s not in the closet. He’s happy alone. He could come out to his work colleagues any time. Until then it’s one nerd and his Corgi, his string of failed relationships, and his collection of Space Shuttle toys. So when he’s hired by a tattooed, musclebound mechanic, it’s just as well that Conflict of Interest prevents him getting involved.
“A guy like him wouldn’t spend time with a guy like me.”
Mechanic Titus Edwards walked away from a promising Army career. As a former EOD expert he’s faced tougher environments than Flushing, Queens, but never a tougher job raising his eight year old niece. When her biological father crawls out of the woodwork, Titus needs an attorney if he’s to protect her. But he’s not expecting to find himself drawn to Alex. After all, Alex is a guy. And Titus isn’t gay.
“We’re wasting time on a fairytale.”
Both men are haunted by pasts they would rather forget. But if they are to forge a future together they’re going to need to overcome more than their individual hurts. Can they learn to trust themselves and each other before it’s too late?
Guardian is a steamy, standalone gay romance novel with a HEA and no cliffhangers.

Well....Holy Moly....
This book was fantastic.
I bought it and started reading.....and could not stop!
I am somewhat of a speed reader so it is hard to keep myself in enough books at times. And I was really, REALLY sorry to see this one finished.
This is a great GFY romance that tugs right on your heartstrings and makes you want happily ever after for them all.
There are the 2 MCs, Alexander Wilson, a lawyer who has always kept his orientation under wraps, not knowing how the fact that he only dated men would be recieved in a law firm full of "old-school" lawyers. He specializes in cases involving children, and is tireless in his bid to make sure that he does his best for the children and families he represents. Then there is Titus Edwards, a completely straight military veteran who runs his own auto shop and balances caring for his sweet little 8 year old niece Phoebe, who lives with him since her mother (and Titus's sister) died in a car accident. The 2 men meet the first time when Alex's older car decides to give him issues just a few blocks from the auto shop that Titus runs. After the car is fixed and picked up, their next meeting is at Alex's office when Titus has to obtain legal representation after Kyle Montgomery, Phoebe's father (who ran off when her mom was pregnant and has not been seen again until now), shows up out of the blue, attempts to kidnap Phoebe in broad daylight and then decides to fight Titus for full custody of the little girl.
And let's not forget Valentina, Val for short...Alex's cute little tri-colored Corgi, who goes to the office with him, as well as everywhere else.
I will not say too much more in order not to spoil the book for the next reader, but I can say that this is a wonderful, feel good love story with very little angst due to the fact that both MCs are very realistic with themselves and know that not all people fit in the little boxes society builds for them.
Altogether, they make up a completely irresistible group and Sierra Riley has a winner on her hands with this masterpiece.

Guardian Sierra Riley Books Reviews
Former military, turned auto mechanic Titus. Meets Alex and his odd little dog Val over the hood of his car one day. Thinking the neat as a pin attorney and his dog are cute takes him by surprise. Not being able to get him off his mind disturbs him the most because he's straight. This is a terrifically written story about two men who help each other out and take the time to get to know each other. I loved the characters and that includes Val the dog. This was a touching, beautiful romance. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!
Except for a few incidents involving a seriously disturbed individual who actually serves as a catalyst for them to come together both professionally as well as personally, this book about a very large, very buff, very tattooed, and very seriously hot ex-Marine named Titus (Ty) Edwards, and a somewhat smaller (but still about six feet) ginger-blond tough closeted attorney named Alex Wilson is at its core a feel-good G4Y romp.
I liked so many things about this one, including the MCs, of course, but Sierra Riley made me believe the story could be true because she got all her facts in every situation involving these two correct. In addition, she set the story in the borough of Queens in New York City and I can tell you (born and raised here) she knows exactly what Queens is about, from the neighborhoods to the "feel for the place."
There's always a risk in pairing together two completely opposite men, one of whom turns the usual scenario of gay-pursues-hopelessly-straight syndrome on its ear. This is Riley's top accomplishment in this tale. Try it, you'll love it.
The book had 2662 locations on my kindle. The book was about 2 men, Titus aka Ty and Alex. Alex was an easy going, space loving, gay lawyer, who was very close to his dog. Titus was a tattoo wearing, muscular, ex military, straight mechanic with guardian ship of his eight year old niece. Alex meant Ty, when he took his car into the garage for service. Ty asked for Alex's help, when he was in danger of loosing custody of his niece, to her dead beat father. The book contained some hot, intense kisses, sex play, oral sex and anal sex, more than half way thru. The men were ok, and the intimate relationship, progressed at a nice pace, which I liked. The men were ok, but overall something was definitely missing for me.
I was drawn in by how the characters were presented with depth and how protective the couple is of each other. Titus is the 6'5" alpha male with piercing eyes, intimidating "bad boy" muscular physique who does have a tender heart. He takes responsibility in raising his niece in the most loving and protective way. However, he is drawn more and more to his customer, Alex. Titus's interaction with Alex causes Titus to realize that his sexuality is much more homosexual than he honestly realized.
Alex is just the partner to draw those qualities out in the open.
Alex who is not a physically imposing and has a slight twinkish trait. He is devoted to his corgi who goes everywhere with him, well dressed, blond hair and blue eyes. However, he has a strength all his own in being a determined family lawyer who does his job exceedingly well.
Titus never perceives him as effeminate but more as out of his league and not even sure that he is gay. As you read the novel and both characters evolve, Titus and the reader recognize how Alex's strength in a court setting. Titus also admires Alex even more when Alex protects Ty's niece that involves a serious physical altercation.
The novel is melodramatic escapism from reality that paces so well that I read it in two nights.
I highly recommend. )
